FULL

It seems as though my last post hit a cord with many of you ... so it turns out we're not alone in our loneliness after all. Kinda helps, doesn't it? When someone comes up along side of you and says "Me Too"? Don't be afraid to speak up, post a comment and participate in the discussion. That's what this is all about - living out loud as we pursue Christ together.

With that in mind, I couldn't help but hop on and share another verse with you. Some of you know that I'm working through the book of Colossians, and these are the verses I memorized to start off my week.

For in Christ all the fullness of Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. Colossians 2:9-10

Yep. We're going straight from loneliness to fullness! You have been given fullness ... Other translations say, "made complete" and "made full". The Greek word used here is defined as, "to make full, to fill up, i.e. to fill to the full, to render full, i.e. to complete."

First of all, let's notice what the verse doesn't say. It doesn't say that we get to have fullness in and of ourselves. It also doesn't say that we will always feel full. What it says is that our fullness is found IN CHRIST. Not in having lots of friends. Not in having the perfect house that is always perfectly clean. Not in our job or our financial status. Not in our strengths or our gifts. Not in a busy schedule. Not. Not. Not. Our fullness is found by living and moving and having our being IN HIM (Acts 17:28)

So what if - just what if we choose to claim that fullness - even when we feel empty? Or how about especially when we feel empty? And what if instead of wallowing in our loneliness, we chose to invite Jesus to be our fullness? What if we asked Him to come and fill us to the measure of all the fullness of God? (Ephesians 3:19) What if?

Today's Challenge: After knowing the Truth - that you were made to house the fullness of God - would you still rather choose emptiness? Press in, my friends, press in!
