Are you LOVING the weather today??
I am! It actually makes me giddy. I have windows open all throughout the house and I’m wearing a hoodie! Happy times! There’s something about the cool breeze that gets me a little crazy (or crazier, depending on what you think of me in the first place). I stepped out of my front door yesterday afternoon, threw my hands in the air and yelled “Hallelujah!” as loud as I could. Don’t worry. My neighbors know me well. And the kids don’t scare easily.
Today my question for you is this: does it still count as letting fresh air in the house if my window sills are this dirty?
Truth be told – when I threw open the windows this morning I was a little aghast at the sight of my window sills. I promise I’m not being overly dramatic. They were filthy with dirt, dust, cob webs and (dare I say it????) loads of dead flies.
Mamma’s got some window cleaning to do. And although it’s not a fun job, it’s worth it so that the fresh air can blow through my home without other nasty particles blowing with it. The smell of fall is in the air and there’s nothing quite like it. It’s one of my favorite things.
All of this makes me think of 2 Corinthians 2:15 when it says, “We are to God the aroma of Christ…”. The reality is that no matter how stinky and unacceptable we may feel each day, God breathes us in as the aroma of Christ – like untainted, fresh air blowing through the air on a cool fall day. In Christ, we’re not stinky at all. We are a fragrant offering – holy, acceptable and pleasing to our Father. Girlfriend – your window sills may be (like mine) covered with all kinds of dirt and grime – but none of that matters when we allow Christ to blow through our day.
….
M.A.C is next week…details to come later in the week! Looking forward to seeing each of you!
