Today I’m sharing five of my current favorite things.
#1: pressed coffee
During Christmas break, a friend made “pressed” coffee for me. She’d been ranting and raving about how wonderful it was, so I couldn’t wait to see what all the fuss was about.
Yall, she was right.
Meet my friend, french press.
I can’t tell you how or why, but she makes the most delicious coffee. She is especially good for an afternoon treat because she only makes about two mugs at a time. If you are a coffee lover and you haven’t tried pressed coffee, it’s time!
You can buy one just like my little friend HERE.
#2: two great books
So far this year I haven’t been blowing through books like I usually do. I did, however, finally finish these two.
I’ve already talked about The Listening Life and here I am still talking about it. I took the book with me on my trip to Grenada and with only three chapters remaining, I accidentally left it on the airplane. So, I bought it again and started over from the beginning.
Yes, it’s that good.
I probably wouldn’t have bought this second book, The Magnolia Story, for myself but I received it as a Christmas gift, and I’m so glad I did. I already love Chip and Jo from the show, Fixer Upper, but reading their story makes me love them even more.
This book was a depart from my usual reads, and I really enjoyed it.

#3: this Bible study
I’m in transition with Bible studies right now, so I picked up this oldie but goodie.
I went through this study for the first time in high school, so it’s been a few years (or decades). This was the first workbook format study (with five daily assignments per week) that I’d ever done. It rocked my world way back then. In this season, revisiting these daily lessons have proved timely. I’m loving it all over again.
If you’ve never done Experiencing God, by Henry T. Blackaby, I recommend you add it to your list. It’s simple and profound and practical and oh-so-good.
You can find it here.
#4: candles
For the last several years, I’ve been exclusively a Scentsy girl but I received a couple new candles for my birthday, and now I’m all over yummy smelling candles.
The candle below (from Bath and Body Works) is obviously wintry, but I love the scent so much. It smells woodsy and masculine to me.
I also received one from Target (called Cozy Nights) that smells clean and delicious.
Now that I’m on a candle kick, I’d love to hear about some of your favorites.
What do you love for spring?
#5: family brackets
In general, I care nothing about college basketball. However, our family gets crazy competitive when March Madness rolls around.
I usually make my picks in very strategic and sophisticated ways (like team colors). Truly, it’s a science. But I would like to go on the record to say that over the years, I’ve claimed victory more often than my husband. Let’s face it. We all (the kids and I) feel like we’ve won if we beat “dad”. These are important things.
Anything that we can do together like this as a family is a win.
So thank you NCAA March Madness for giving me an opportunity to participate and engage with my family in this fun, competitive way.
Does your family enjoy the madness too?

That’s it for me, but as always, I’d love to hear from you.
