It’s snowing here, and I couldn’t help but think of this story, written years ago. I hope God uses it to speak to you right where you are today.
————————————-
Yesterday was a really ugly day for me. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say that by the end of the night, with my hubby out of town, all of my children saw mommy’s ugly face. {Ever had one of those days?}
When I finally got all the kids to bed, I sat by the fire and looked back at my day. What a mess! All I could see was my failure. Another day wasted. No one had been glorified, except for maybe my flesh, which is never pretty.
With my head in my hands, I told God that I was sorry, and asked Him to cover my day with His mercy, grace and love.
When I woke up this morning and looked outside, I couldn’t help but smile. Snow was everywhere. And in that very moment, God whispered to my soul, “Receive this gift as a picture of my love. It covers everything!” What was once barren and “winter ugly” is now covered by pure white sheets of snow. And I felt it too, as I watched the sweet snow fall so tenderly to the ground. God had covered my day. He had covered my ugliness. He was still covering me with his sweet, tender and gracious love.
Surely it’s a gift for us all. Today God is showing His love by sending us a blanket of snow. Look outside and receive it!!
