If we were permitted a quick peek behind the curtains of Heaven to catch a glimpse of God the Father, might we echo these words of David? …
Praise be to you, O Lord,
God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:10-13
Verses that enlarge our perspective of God are some of my favorite to memorize. Can’t you imagine how it delights God to hear His Word spoken back to Him in praise! These three verses are next on my list to carve into this thick skull of mine … anyone want to commit to memorizing this powerful text with me? Just say so and we’ll keep each other accountable.
Warning: Memorizing scripture may become addictive and is guaranteed to change your life forever. Proceed with reckless abandon, if you dare!
