As this year comes to a close, I’m looking back at the top 10 most read blog posts of 2013. These posts are a great reflection of my year, and man oh man, it’s been quite a year!
Thank you for reading along, saying that you can relate, and walking out the great adventure of faith with me.

Most of this post was written by someone else. It’s a deeply personal story about one mans failure to pray – to step in the path of someone else’s pain to intercede for them. Can you relate to his struggle to pray too?
This post is definitely random, but worth the look.
It has a great recipe and one of my favorite books of all time.
lies in my head, and what I made for dinner:

This year was a year of great heart ache, but in the midst of it all,
God showed up in the most beautiful way.
This verse is written on a plate in my kitchen – it’s truth that I’ve needed right in front of me every single day. It’s truth to live by – truth to grow strength in.
The issue of idols has been huge for me this year.
God used this verse in Jonah to open my eyes at the start of 2013.
Although written as my focus for Christmas, God has used these 5 things to shape my year. If I want to practice His presence {God with us} every single day, then these 5 things apply today just as much as they did during Advent.
I went through a “silent season” last spring, and God gave me this verse to help me to understand why. I’m learning that God has a sovereign plan for all of our seasons – He’s working them for our good and His purpose. My responsibility is to lean in and trust Him.
Can you see a common theme yet for my year? This verse served as a stiff kick in the rear. Carrie, stop being a donkey!
I love that this post made the Top 10 because it’s where my year began: with the desire for more faith and less fear. I had no way of knowing then all the ways that God would lovingly walk me through one of the most difficult but exciting years of my life. 2013 was hard, friends, but God is faithful. And He is good.
Here’s to a God-honoring, faith-building, Jesus-abiding,
community-growing, good-news-spreading year in 2014!
