Humble living doesn’t happen on accident. It’s never stumbled upon. It’s contrary to every longing of our sinful nature. Walking low is only achieved with practice. It’s only found by living with intention – by living with our hearts purposely turned upwards.
#2: SACRIFICE
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
The second “S” that speaks of walking low is sacrifice – specifically, offering your whole self as a living sacrifice. Sacrifice means we choose to consecrate our lives fully to Him. It means we wake up living to please Him in every way. It means living life as a fragrant offering to the Giver of all good things.
Do you wake up like that?
Do you wake up like that?
Do you wake up each day confidently waving your white flag in surrender? Joyfully laying your day at the feet of our Savior? Do you tell him, “I’m yours today. I sacrifice it all – my mind, my mouth, my agenda, my attitude, my job, my relationships. I lay it all at your feet as a sacrifice of worship to you.”
I wonder what would happen if we presented ourselves as empty vessels – vessels void of even the slightest trace of self – to Him each day. What could God do with a woman fully yielded in surrender to her Maker? Would it change the course of her day? Could it affect her relationships, her job, or even her future? Would it impact her family or harmony of her home?
Could that one thing – the act of surrender – have the potential to change everything?
Could that one thing – the act of surrender – have the potential to change everything?
I wonder …
Today’s Challenge: Empty hands lifted high to the God and Father of all grace and mercy … only empty vessels can be filled. Only those willing to sacrifice. Today, will your present your vessel: gloriously empty and waiting to be filled? Is that a sacrifice you are willing to make?
